Jazz, classical, funk and popular beats all combine on this amazing CD, "So The Journey Goes." The group, Autorickshaw, is based in Toronto, Canada but travels extensively. Earlier this year, they spent time in India playing at the Jaipur Festival in Rajastan. The lead singer is Suba Sankaran, her father a master drummer; Trichy Sankaran is also featured as a special guest performing his own composition, Nalina Kanthi. The group also covers Leonard Cohen’s "Bird On A Wire," but in a way that you’ve never heard it before. Music from Bollywood and of course traditional Indian rhythms; the final track includes all the performers in a riotous mix. This is a CD that has found its way onto the European World Music Charts and will find a place with all contemporary music lovers. -Deirdre Saravia, host of World Music on KSTX, Texas Public Radio
